GroundGuards is a division of the global GreenTek Group, established in 1969. One of the UK's largest stockist of a wide range of ground protection mats for both sale and hire, GroundGuards operate a diverse fleet of vehicles and plant to ensure proficient delivery of their products to any site in the UK, on time, every time.
Following 3 years experience with the flagship model from a competitive brand, GroundGuards were left needing a little more and so turned to MultiOne to evaluate the flagship 11 Series Telescopic Loader.
Achieving more lifting capacity was crucial, but so was keeping within a strict gross weight limit to enable transport of the Loader by 4x4 and Plant Trailer. The combination of these two parameters were compromised on the previous Loader the company was using.
Lynton Ellis, the Commercial Director at GroundGuards explains "Efficiency of transportation of our product, as well as time utilised on site are of paramount importance to us in order to be competitive in our market. The more mats we can carry and load with a Loader, the better as this saves lorry space and labour costs".
An extensive consultation with Rob Sired led to a detailed quotation and study of the specification.
"We found the level of information offered and transparency very encouraging, it was a revelation to actually see an official Lifting Chart published on the MultiOne UK website and this proved that the 11 Series should provide what we were looking for", said Lynton.
An 11.6K was setup with the optimum set of rear weights to achieve the maximum lifting capacity within the exact weight required for legal transportation by GroundGaurds vehicle fleet. A visit to their impressive depot near Leeds saw this put through it's paces and the results spoke for themselves.
"Compared to our previous Loader, the 11.6K could lift a few extra mats in a stack and the extra boom height meant we could reach to stack them higher. What really impressed us is that it wasn't even fitted with the maximum rear weight configuration! With the overall design and build quality, plus the confidence that the team at Compact Loaders UK gave us, it was a no brainer to add this to our fleet", said Lynton.
