Managing Director - Wiltshire
The 8.5SK stood out with the best blend of specification and features for our needs
Jim Hewlett is Managing Director of Lawntech Ltd, a lawn care company covering most of the south of England. With a team of qualified technicians who come from a greenkeeping or turf management background, Jim's team create custom programmes that nurture lawns to perfection. Established in 2006, Lawntech Ltd has grown to be one of the most successful independent lawn care companies in the UK.
Jim needed a Loader that would be highly manoeuvrable, with the ability to handle pallets of turf weighing up to 1.3 tons and load/unload bulk bags of seed and top dressing from his HGV truck.
A telescopic boom was needed to achieve sufficient lift height to empty the fertiliser bags into a towable disc spreader too.
The challenge was to achieve this in a compact and low weight package so the Loader could then be transported on the HGV whilst fully loaded with fertiliser, or towed on a plant trailer behind a 4x4.
With the added bonus of a 26km/h drive speed and outside turning circle of just 2295mm, Jim found the MultiOne 8.5SK Loader to be the perfect blend of specification and performance for his needs.
With adequate lifting capacity and 3.25m max boom height, this model weighed in at only 2,277kgs including it's full compliment of rear weights and set of 2,000kgs pallet forks.
Having extensively consulted Keith Douglas, it was time to put the 8.5SK model to the test. Compact Loaders UK prepared a new machine to Jim's desired spec and visited him for a test in his yard. Everything met Jim's expectations and he elected to keep the machine on the day.
Mission accomplished, we now have another happy MultiOne owner in Jim Hewlett, Managing Director of Lawntech Ltd.
